Ernest Hemingway

Becoming a mother created the greatest shift in Ruth's life and how she sees the world. A job that is equal parts amazing and difficult, especially when attempting to break generational trauma, is why Ruth is passionate about growing communities of women and mothers who can find comfort and empathy in knowing they are not alone.
Ruth enlisted in the Navy from 2001 to 2005, where she met and married a Navy man, and spent twelve years as a military wife. This is a lifestyle few understand, but bonds grow deep in the military community, even after retirement. Ruth has also lived abroad as an expatriate and writes about these experiences.
Ruth's story encompasses her youth and the adult she has become. She writes about the evolution of her relationship with her aging parents and siblings. Ruth ponders her changing body, her growing patience, and her ability to not waste time on trivial matters and people. She also reflects on her family lineage and the roots of her past.
